2012 Ariel Atom V8 500

No, your eyes are not deceiving you! Ariel have indeed gone completely bonkers and fitted a bespoke V8 engine to the already madly fast, and madly exciting Ariel Atom. The Atom is a refined vehicle that actually works on the road, allowing it to represent the best track day experience. This new V8 version takes crazy to new heights thanks to minimal weight and 500HP – that may not sound like much, but when you consider that the car weighs as much as a postage stamp on a diet, things start to get very extreme indeed.
The Ariel Atom is sort of like a lean, mean, sophisticated bare knuckle boxer that has mastered all forms of martial arts. Lean and mean because of its no frills, barely-there construction; sophisticated because it’s clever; and bare knuckled because it’s raw and uncensored. Something like a Gallardo Superleggera, which can be described in the same context as a WWE Superstar – all drama, flash and very capable - can still be considered slightly under talented in comparison to the Atom. As powerful, but three times heavier than this new Atom V8, anything in the Gallardo’s league, and in fact higher, would flounder against it on pretty much any given stretch of road or track.

Androgynous style for women. Why not for men too?

Caterham to debut new model at the Autosport International

We haven’t seen anything new from Caterham recently as the British manufacturer seems to he content with just producing continuation models of their iconic Lotus Seven models.
All that, however, was bound to change and now Caterham has announced that it has plans of unveiling a completely new model at the start of 2011. Details are still sketchy at this point, but Caterham has made it known that their new model is going to signal “the beginning of a new dawn for the Company, but one that remains true to the lightweight, minimalist DNA of the legendary Seven."
According to Caterham, this new model is going to be powered by a new in-house engine - the next-generation Caterham Motorsport engine - and is going to be built alongside the Seven. There’s no telling what kind of car this is going to be because Caterham is keeping their cards close to their chests. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait too long before we see the cat make its debut at the Autosport International Show in Birmingham, England on January 13, 2011. That’s about a month away so the wait really isn’t that long.

Many online shoes stores don't understand the word "unisex"

I made a search by google with "unisex high heels" keywords. What I found: a lot of online stores sell "men unisex heels" and "women unisex heels". How this shoes are unisex if they are different for men and women?
Weird!

2011 Ferrari P4/5 Competizione

Exterior and Interior Details
While there aren’t any interior details as of yet, we can imagine that it’s going to be quite sparse. This is a racing car of sorts so don’t expect leather seats and all the luxurious amenities that come in certain sports cars. We think the Ferrari P4/5 Competizione will have racing seats with harnesses and a technologically laden gauge cluster. Air conditioning probably won’t be included and the same can be said of a navigation system. As for an interior color choice, black will be everywhere.
The exterior of the Ferrari is pure racing car. It will sit very low to ground and feature a massive silver rear spoiler for optimum downforce. The car’s creator, Jim Glickenhaus, chose to base the Competizione model on the combination of the F430 underpinnings, using the 430 Scuderia’s chassis and the F430 GT2’s drivetrain to keep it up to speed with the competition.
The front fascia features a square air intake with triangular headlights. A massive black front lip spoiler wraps around the vehicle, running all the way back to the wheel arches. The rear of the car is classic F40, with a black mesh looking rear and two massive exhaust outlets. There is a huge rear diffuser that looks as if it came from one of Ferrari’s Formula One cars.
Other exterior features include aerodynamic kits, air intakes on the hood, doors and rear of the car, and a fighter jet looking black glass cockpit, though we imagine the actual car’s windows won’t be that dark for safety reasons.

All New Hyundai Elantra Spotted

We recently spotted Hyundai’s next venture into the Indian car market, the all new Elantra. The 2011 Elantra a.k.a the Avante was unveiled at the Busan Auto Show in South Korea and now will be soon seen in India. We spotted the car during its test runs and we expect the all new sedan to hit the Indian roads in the later half of 2011. We did not get a chance to see the interiors of the car but by the looks of it the one which was tested was a left-hand drive.

We suspect that the Hyundai Elantra Avante will boast of a 2.0 litre CRDi engine. The sedan will be priced between Rs 12-15 lakh, thereby stiffening the competition in that segment. The Elantra, if priced in that range, will compete with the Chevrolet Cruze, Honda Civic and the Corolla Altis.

Hansi's response to "New year thoughts"

Dear Lolla, Thank you so much, for 3 years collecting, gathering and presenting lots of pics of men in heels!!! This is really a good support for all of us, admiring and wearing heels!
Let me reply to your points in detail:
re 1): I hope so too, that more and more designers will take the chance, to show, how good and elegant also men can look and walk in heels.
re 2): This is probably related to the prices. More than 700 EUR for a pair of designer men-heels? For that amount, you get at least too pairs of Louboutin Heels (that look more desirable - in my opinion).
re 3): EVERY thing, that is not well known as men´s fashion, especially that is not allowed to wear in business, makes people wonder and stereo-typical questions come up: are you gay? do you want to be a woman? etc. On the one hand, there is a quiet limited offer in men´s fashion, that often does not include anything fancy, colourful, etc. So it is maybe more obvious - especially if it comes to heels - that this is not, what you would expect worn by men. Women fought already for their right, to wear pants and today nobody notices or gets irritated, if a woman is wearing a tie, boxer shorts, etc. Men are still far away from that differentiation between "female" and "male" clothes and accessories.
re 4): One the one hand, yes. But it is always a question how it is combined, how they are worn/ the way of walking. If you sway your hips like Marylin Monroe, you can be sure, that lots of men will look back. But if the heels are mostly hidden under pants and if you walk somehow "straight", only few people will notice and make jokes/ call you a faggot or whatever. Regarding the test in the Time Magazine: I have read that story that it would not make any sense, if women are risking to break their necks or to ruin their feet, because men would not notice the difference between flat and high heeled shoes. But in one or two article I found the complete story: the men saw the women only on a monitor, showing the schemes of the walking. So it was not visible, if they wore heels or flats. And this is also my impression from experiencing in pedestrian zones, etc. The women are noticing first, if I am wearing heels under my jeans. If I wear them openly, it is a relation of 50:50.
re 5): YES! I totally agree! On the one hand it is okay and even necessary, to collect pictures, to share links to those archives; talking about fashion shows (with men in heels) and whatever might be helpful to show, that men in heels is more than just a fetish; that it is exactly the same as for women: a fashion item. On the other hand, there is no better way, to make this topic public, than to show it in public! So to every man who likes to wear heels: GO OUT ON THE STREETS! make it more public and finally more common and normal.
Kind regards, Hannes/ Hansi

New year thoughts

After three years of searching the men that usually wear high heels, after three years of posts about men wearing high heels and after 650000 visitors, there are several conclusions that can be drawn now:
- the first is that something is moving, more and more designers create high heels for men or put their male models on high heels
- the second is that unfortunately too few men wear these high heels designed for them in daily manner
- the third is that there is an explanation for this fact: is the feeling of fear of being judged as gay people
- the forth: the high heels are, in general opinion, strong connected with women sexuality and they are used to attract men. But ironically Time magazine reports "Men Don't Notice When Women Wear High Heels"
- and the final conclusion: the first step on the way to high heels for men is the regaining unisex or even asexual character by high heels.
If you agree with it, I invite all of you to fight for high heels becoming unisex or asexual.
